Black Sheep is the autobiographical story about a black woman re-defining and finding love. Love in all it’s forms but foremost self-love. A Black queer womxn who was abandoned for the first time only 7 month old fighting for her place in a world that was not build to support Black people nor any brown body.
Livia is speaking on subjects like LGBTQIA+ identity, the repercussions of loosing her adoptive parents early on in life and understanding and overcoming internalised and institutional racism. As a queer woman of colour who grew up in a white neighbourhood as the only Black child she unpacks stereotypes, dissects otherness, feminism, colourism and trauma. She cleverly tells her story though physical theatre, spoken word, singing, sword swallowing and incorporates wit and humour. Her way of overcoming, learning to self-love inspire others with her words enables her to build an exciting bridge between Live Art and Theatre.
